Our days began by the shimmering waters of the Red Sea and our  buffet breakfasts we heading straight to the beach, where turquoise water stretched endlessly in crystal-clear shallows. Alex, James, Vikky and Caroline were often first to wade out, floating and splashing in the warm sea that seemed to stay shallow forever. Ice creams and beach snacks became daily rituals, while Graham and John’s competitive beach bowls drew plenty of laughter from the side lines.

Tuesday blended poolside relaxation with high-energy fun at the water park. Crossword puzzles and sun loungers gave way to thrilling slides, rapids, and a lively wave pool. James, Alex and Vikky bravely tackled the park’s biggest slide, while laughter echoed across the water.

Wednesday was devoted to the sea. Boarding our private glass-bottom boat, we sailed across calm waters to discover vibrant coral gardens and darting schools of fish beneath us. Neil, Alex and Vikky snorkelled at the first stop, exploring the reef up close, while others soaked in the views from deck. At the second stop, we waded across to a tiny sand island in the middle of the sea — surreal and picture-perfect. Fresh fruit and coffee onboard, followed by a glowing Red Sea sunset against desert mountains, made it one of the most memorable days of the trip. 

Friday’s desert safari became one of the trip’s defining highlights. Racing through the sands in a rugged 4x4 with our guide Mo, we bounced over dunes before arriving at a Bedouin camp. We tasted warm freshly baked bread, sipped fragrant tea, and embraced the much-anticipated camel rides — with James declaring it his favourite moment of the entire holiday. 

A bowling showdown split us into the Blue Rockets and the White Diamonds, with the White Diamonds claiming victory and Neil delivering an impressive 108 top score. A magic show full of humour and illusions followed, setting the tone for many relaxed late-night drinks in the warm air.
