Disneyland Paris with Oli, Ayshea & Isobel

Disneyland Paris
We were ready to experience that magic of Disney. With the biggest smiles on our faces and  our headbands on we headed down Mainstreet towards the magnificent Sleeping Beauty Castle. It was just as beautiful as we had imagined.

We were giddy with excitement which could only mean one thing..... meeting the main man himself, the cheekiest and friendliest mouse in the world, Mickey!  We cuddled, shook hands and gave him so many kisses! He surpassed all expectations, and we could have spent all day chatting away to him! A very special moment indeed!

And to top it off we got to meet the very beautiful Minnie Mouse too! Our dreams really were coming true!

Over our two fabulous days we got to go on so many rides. We flew high in the sky on Dumbo, whizzed round and round on the TeaCups and were like formula one racing drivers on Cars Route 66 ride.

We found a great spot for the must see Disney Stars on Parade! With prime position we watched as the magnificent, brightly coloured floats passed us by with music blaring out. We loved seeing some of our favourite Princesses who, we are pretty sure blew us a kiss! Woody and Jessie from Toy Story danced passed us, along with some of the toy soldiers.

It was then time for the next ride of the day. Yes, we are sure you will all know the catchy them tune- it’s now stuck in our heads! It’s a Small World took us on a trip through miniature scenes from across the globe. We travelled through London spotting Big Ben and Tower Bridge, through Austria and the snowy mountains all the way to Hollywood and to Ancient Egypt. There was so much detail out into each and every scene.

Another highlight of the day was a meet and greet with the world-famous puppet Pinocchio and his father Geppetto. They were both happy to meet us too and they signed our autograph book which would make a great memento.

With more rides to get under  our belts, we boarded a log flume style ride to see the Pirates of the Caribbean. We sailed through shipwrecks and even saw a ship on fire. Whilst walking to our next ride we spotted Captain America who stopped to pose for a photo! The next ride was the Spider-Man W.E.B Adventure, a 4D interactive ride where we were invited to put on 3D glasses and help Spider-Man sling webs at the onscreen bots causing chaos. There was a friend or two who we were looking forward to meeting as we moved into Toy Story Land. Right before our eyes was a gigantic Buzz Lightyear. Everyone did their best impression “to infinity and beyond’. There was a spring in our step as we bounced up, down and all around on the back of Slinky Dog as he tried to catch his tail.

One of the most memorable moments of our trip was the live shows. Mickey and the Magician show was one of our favourites. We followed Mickey as he was given the task of cleaning up the room at night before sunrise, but the young apprentice gets distracted. Tinker Bell goes on to spread a little stardust and nothing turns out as expected. Mickey finds himself accidentally transported to the most magical worlds, featuring Genie, Lumière and Rafiki. Finally, Mickey becomes the hero in this incredible show where illusion is key, and we were mesmerised.

As night fell, we were dazzled by the Disney Extravaganza, a magical show with spectacular drone light choreography that illuminated the sky over the Sleeping Beauty Castle as if by magic. This was followed by a spectacular and emotional journey guided by Peter Pan’s shadow, as some of our most loved characters were projected onto the castle. There were ‘wow’s’ galore as the impressive display of fireworks made our jaws drop. It was an unforgettable sight as they exploded in the sky and filled it with colours and light. It really was a moment that we will treasure forever.

What could be better than a Mickey Mouse ice cream treat!

As promised, we headed to Adventure Land so our daredevils could take the mighty Hollywood Tower and our stomachs lurched as we dropped through the many floors of this iconic ride.
