Canal Boat Leisure Trips with Oli & Marguerite

 Canal Boat Leisure Trips

Three fabulous days were spent cruising up and down the Birmingham waterways on our wonderful canal boats. We had some experts on board who had cruised before and it was great to have them showing us the ropes!

Wildlife was in abundance throughout our journey, it was great fun spotting moorhens, ducks, swans and a heron along the way.

On this route we encountered a drawbridge which we tackled successfully, allowing our boat and crew to sail under professionally.

It was soon time for everyone to become the ‘captain’ and experience steering the boat.

We found a lovely spot to moor up for our picnic. Just after passing bridge 37, we found an idyllic spot to stop, a wide expanse of grass to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of our surroundings. Some chose to stay aboard whilst others chose to alight the boat and be at one with nature. Whilst eating, ducks and swans came to greet us hoping to feast on our picnic too! Before leaving, we did leave them some leftovers which they greedily accepted.
