 Chester Zoo & Blue Planet Aquarium 

We're all going to the zoo, zoo, zoo. You can come too, too, too was the song of choice as we made our way to Chester Zoo for our first animal adventure. 

There were so many enclosure's for us to explore. The giraffes and were some of our favourites and we could have watched them for hours. 

The lion was basking in the warm sunshine and the rhino made us laugh when he rolled in the mud. 

Our underwater adventure took us to the incredible Blue Planet Aquarium. We were immersed in the Amazon Rainforest where black bellied piranha's swam past us before we visited one of their most popular attractions Coral Cave which is home to over 50 species of tropical fish in every colour imaginable. 

We took our seats in the Aqua Theatre and watched as the presenter told us some interesting facts of the fascinating creatures as they swam around the huge tank. Two divers joined in the presentation and demonstrated the chaos almost like a tornado in the tank at feeding time. The Ocean Tunnel was finally upon us; we had all been so excited to experience this and we were not disappointed. As we slowly walked through the underwater tunnel, we could learn more about life in the Caribbean Reef. With the 360 view we found ourselves surrounded overhead by one of Europe's largest collection of sharks which was a truly remarkable experience. 

Down at the bowling alley it was game on! It was a close game with high scores and a few strikes. 

What a amazing experience to be on a safari trip! We felt like we were in the Lion King movie as we a heard of antelope drove right in front of us. There were a pride of lions protecting their cubs- we couldn't believe how close we were to them. 

We all laughed as one of the monkeys jumped on the minibus, trying to pull off one of the windscreen wipers before running away! 

We enjoyed a ride on the safari train which allowed us to explore more of the park. 

We couldn't resist a stop at the gift shop to buy a few souvenirs to remind us of our day.

We headed straight to the crazy golf course for a fun game on this challenging course. We all chose our lucky club and ball and tried our best to get that hole in one. 

 

It was game on down at the bowling alley where a nail biting game ensued. There were high scores and a few strikes! It was great to see such great sportsmanship from the group. 

Our creative side came out down in the arts room where we all got to choose a piece of pottery to paint in brightly coloured paints. 

Everyone was incredibly proud of their masterpieces and we all agreed they would make great mementos. 

We hired a pedelo and took it out on the boating lake. It was so much fun navigating our way around. The friendly ducks swam beside us looking for a treat!

We love celebrating a birthday on one of our holidays! 

There were so many great activities for us to join in with. There was always a fierce competition down on the pool tables, with everyone trying to pot the black. We also tried a new game Football Pool- the aim of the game is to pot the footballs on the giant pool table…our ball skills were definitely tested!

We couldn't resist stopping at the infamous Pancake House where we indulged in a huge selection of toppings and flavours! Delicious!
