Disneyland Paris with Jamie, Isobel & Barbara

 Disneyland Paris

Day one in the magical world of Disney and we were super excited to ride the rollercoasters and meet some of our most loved characters.

With huge smiles on our faces we got to meet the world's most famous and cheekiest mouse. He was so lovable and gave us lots of hugs, too.

We embraced the Disney magic and headed to watch Mickey Mouse and the Magician Show. The stage lit up with special effects, light shows and many of our most loved characters including Cinderella, Lumiere, Belle and the Beast, Genie, animatronic creatures from the Lion King and Olaf and Elsa, too!

It was then time to check out some of the rides and our first stop was soaring through the sky on the Magic Carpet ride. We then dived deep into the ocean on the Turtle Coaster ride. It was faster than it looked!

To our surprise, Woody from Toy Story (who was very tall!) came to say hello. We high-fived him, danced and gave him a hug. He kindly signed our autograph books, something to treasure!

Later on in the afternoon we found a great spot on the main street to witness the infamous Disney Parade. It was a spectacular sight to see as all our favourite characters, dance and waved as they passed us by in their brightly decorated floats. Live music from the band really got us in the carnival spirit and we loved every second. A highlight of the day was when some of the characters came over and took the time to speak to us. Simply the best day ever!

The boys met Darth Vader and were overawed by his exceptional tallness and his loud hawking voice. Darth Vader quizzed David about his light sabre training and asked him if he was going over to the dark side - David quickly replied, ‘Yes!’

The last wonderful sight of the day was of the iconic Disney Castle in the moonlight where a spectacular light show was projected onto the walls of the castle, accompanied by coloured fountain jets of water, and stupendous fireworks as the songs from Disney films rang out across the land. Everyone was transfixed by the amazing performance, and some were even moved to tears - it was so beautiful and magical. Breathtaking!

Day two and first on our agenda was an audience with the Disney character Ariel where we chatted to her and posed for photographs. She was so friendly and easy to talk to plus she looked stunningly beautiful in her sea-blue satin gown. We all felt quite dazzled by her.

The Teacup ride was next which was a favourite of everyone’s, but especially both Katie M and Katie B, as we twirled around gently to the music. The flying Dumbo ride was great fun as we towered high giving us great views of the park.

A highlight was when we attended a performance of the Lion King in the theatre and what a spectacle it was! The wonderful music and singing along with the dramatic lighting and the fabulous scenery gave us goosebumps. The gloriously colourful costumes and the daring acrobatics all combined to produce a sensational show that kept us on the edge of our seats. Our toes tapped along to our favourite tunes, and we couldn’t help but sing along with the performers.

Our day ended with a fee Disney themed treats and a browse in the souvenir shop to buy and gifts to remind us of our memorable holiday.
