Butlins, Fun & Dancing ( Skegness) with Duncan & Tracey

 Butlins, Fun & Dancing

We love our time at Butlins and we are always given a warm and friendly welcome by the lovely Red Coats.

The funfair never disappoints! We were lucky winners on the 'Hook a Duck' stall.

Flying high in the sky on the High Chairs gave us a great view of the resort.

We bumped and crashed into each other on the Dodgem and felt like racing drivers on the Go-Karts.

The evening entertainment is something we always looked forward to each night. The show stopping performances had us up on our feet, dancing the night away.

A morning was spent at the pottery painting studio where our creative side came out. Everyone picked something they would like to paint and then let their artistic flair take over. We were all very proud of our final masterpiece.

We love celebrating a birthday on one of our holidays and we surprised Greg with a delicious chocolate cake. He was over the moon!

We visited the Discovery Centre which is home to an all manner of reptiles and creepy crawlies which while fascinating, some sent shivers down our spines! The brave amongst us were able to touch the gigantic millipede which was a first for all of us.

After picking our lucky club and ball, it soon became quietly competitive on the crazy golf course! Alan was on or under par for each hole and we named him the next Tiger Woods!

It ws our lucky day again as we spent our pennies in the arcade winning lots of tickets to exchange for fantastic prizes.

An amazing visit to the Lincolnshire Aeronautical Heritage Museum was a day to remember.Greg told us it brought back fond memories of his father and the stories his father had told him about when he was an airman in the RAF.

We really enjoyed checking out some of the vintage vehicles on display in the main hanger, but the one thing everyone found really amazing was the lovingly restored and maintained Lancaster Bomber! What makes this place special is it is the only place you can actually experience what it is like to go for a taxi ride on this powerful war plane. We witnessed the ferocious power of the four Rolls Royce Merlin engines as the near deafening roar spun the planes propellers so fast that it felt like we were in the eye of a hurricane!

We checked out the airfields blast shelter and flight control building where we were able to go back in time to see how bombing raids were planned and co-ordinated. We were even able to experience what it was like during blackouts during the blitz which was really scary!

Who doesn't love an ice cream when on holiday? We can never resist the huge variety of different flavours on offer!
