London Sightseeing & Theatre with Steve, Michaela & Netty

  London Sightseeing & Theatre

In Oxford Street we admired the beautifully decorated shops. They certainly made us feel Christmassy!  After some retail therapy we were ready for a bit of sightseeing. We made our way to Marble Arch and continued to The Tower of London.

We took a riverboat cruise along the Thames to Greenwich. On our cruise we had a commentary of all the incredible sights along the way. Afterwards we all enjoyed a traditional lunch of pie, mash and liquor.

At the Imperial War Museum we experienced the exceptional stories of people whose lives have been forever impact by war.  We enjoyed strolling around the gallerie whilst looking at interesting documents, objects, art, sound and film.

We took in the sights of the London Eye and walked along the South Bank where the street was lined with Christmas market stalls which were selling numerous delights. We enjoyed a stroll past the Tate Modern museum, The Globe Theatre and the Millennium Bridge which took us to St Paul’s Cathedral. We then got a red London bus to Leicester Square where we had an enjoyable dinner.

We visited the famous Harrods store and bought some gifts.
There was so much to choose from!

During our time in London we enjoyed visiting different markets from Spitalfields to Covent Garden. The markets were buzzing with hives of shops, stalls, bars and restaurants. In Covent Garden we had a drink whilst listening to the hustle bustle of Opera singers, bands and side shows.

  1. Despite having visited London several times, we never cease to be amazed by the amount and variety of water traffic to be seen on the river. We took the thames river cruise trip on the recommendation of our taxi driver from waterloocars.co.uk the lowest price taxi in London, while returning from our waterloo sightseeing tour. You really cannot visit London as a tourist without spending at least some time on or next to the River Thames
