Royal
Norfolk County Show
Throughout the two days at the show we saw a stunning programme including professional horse riders, showjumping, heavy horses, a parade of hounds, farmers exhibiting their livestock and much more.
The vintage machinery included tractors, stationary engines, horticultural machinery and their various attachments. It help understanding how farming was carried out in the age before modern equipment.
At the birds of prey display we got to handle an owl which sat proudly on our arms.
In the main arena we all sat and waited for the RAF Falcons Display Team to parachute out of the plane which was directly above us. What an amazing site all jumping and landing in the precise location marked within the arena. We were fortunate enough to meet with the display team and had our photographs taken with them.
At the beach we enjoyed a nice stroll along the seafront and enjoyed an ice cream. We all had great fun skimming pebbles into the sea whilst others were looking for seashells.
In Great Yarmouth we visited the Merrivale Model Village, a beautiful
attraction with landscaped gardens, streams and waterfalls, a miniature garden
railway and an old penny arcade. At the end of our tour we all thoroughly
enjoyed a game of mini golf.
In the lovely village of Wroxham we boarded
the steam train to Aylsham. The scenery was
fabulous. We all had a great time admiring the views and the wildlife on this
slow steady journey.
Once back in Wroxham we boarded a boat for a tour of
the Norfolk Broads, managing to spot rare sights of beautiful birds and glorious types
of sailing boats.
