Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country
We hit the road and headed off to Emerdale
country and took a mini bus tour of the places where the shows were filmed.
We went into Otley which is known as Hotton in the show and also had lunch at the
Woolpack Inn.
We travelled across the moors to Embsay where we
boarded a steam train which took us to Bolton Abbey, it was a real journey
through time as the train took us through the glorious Yorkshire countryside. Then we drove to Skipton and boarded a longboat which took us along
the Leeds and Liverpool canal. It was a fantastic afternoon, loved by all.
Back at the lodge Steve cooked a BBQ as the weather had been good to us throughout the day.
We visited Knaresborough Castle which is situated at the top of a large cliff. From there we had an amazing view of the River Nidd. After cream tea at the Stumps Cross Caverns, some of us went down into the caverns to explore the impressive formations.
