Wales in Summertime with Derek & Mags

Our exciting and scenic journey ended at our beautiful accommodation in rural Wales.
We settled in right away and were itching to get out an explore our delightful surroundings!

Each day started with a delicious home cooked breakfast, leaving us ready and raring for our adventures.  We visited the astoundingly beautiful Kidwelly Castle where we sat outside and watched a very funny puppet show, acting out the rise and fall of Welsh Kings and Princesses!

We explored the coast at Burry Port where we saw an amazing lighthouse and long glorious stretches of beach. We devoured the best traditional fish and chips around!

We stepped back in time on the magnificent Gwili Steam Railway.  They had a fabulous museum where we went into the signal box!  We even lunched in a beautiful converted railway carriage.

Our trip to Dinefwr Park was loved by all. We saw white cattle in the lush fields and headed up to our second breath taking castle.  We walked all around the old castle walls and soaked up the history.

We had a wonderful day at the National Botanic Gardens where we took in the vibrant colours and stunning views across the lakes.  We walked through the largest single span greenhouse in Europe!

Everyone loved the visit to St David's, the smallest city in the UK.  We went into the exquisite cathedral and were impressed by it's sheer size.  We stopped off at Pendine Sands to the Museum of Speed. We watched a fascinating video of bygone days and saw the car named BABS that held the land speed record at that time!

The pretty coastal village of Solva captured our hearts as we walked along the inlet and looked at the bobbing boats in the harbour.  We saw quaint cottages and had a game of boules on the soft sand.
We had a wonderful holiday thoroughly loved by everyone!

Lake District Activity Centre with Netty & Isobel

We could hardly wait to get to the Lake District to begin our fantastic holiday!  Arriving at our very comfortable accommodation we settled in and set off to explore the grounds, where we tried out the large outdoor climbing frame and the huge curly wurly slide!

During our week we had some real adventures, such as crawling through caves, rock climbing, zip wiring, archery, canoeing, abseiling and much more.  Well done to all for showing such brilliant team spirit and for encouraging each other!  Everybody loved our instructor for the week, who made sure we were safe at all times and made us laugh a lot!

We spent one cosy evening in the tepee sharing stories around the glowing camp fire, toasting scrumptious fluffy marshmallows.  Mmmmm!

One morning we visited Lake Windermere, where we took in the breath-taking scenery and beautiful lake.  It was then on to Little Langdale where we had a lovely fresh walk and explored the old Cathedral Quarries.

We spent a lovely evening in the pretty Kendal where we ate a delicious pub dinner.  A few evenings were spent in the sensory room, where we lounged on huge great big bean bags, chatting and laughing about our days adventures!

We all came home with a great sense of achievement and were very proud of our Certificates!

Norfolk Broads & Seaside with Phil & Pat

Blessed with blue skies and sunshine, we couldn't have asked for a better week to enjoy our holiday on the beautiful broads!
Set a stones throw from the broads, we settled in to our lovely comfortable accommodation right away.  Our week was jam packed full of fun and we enjoyed some wonderful time on the water.  Our instructor for the week was very friendly and made us all laugh!

From our delightful cruiser, we spotted lots of local wildlife, including marsh warblers, feeding herons, golden crested grebes and of course, lots of ducks!  We spent time sailing, learning how to steer properly - great efforts from all.  On another glorious morning we set off on our canoes, taking in the peace and beauty of the broads.

We chugged and 'choo choo'd' along on our beautiful steam train ride from Holt to Sheringham.  It was a very picturesque journey and we all loved waving out the window! We ate scrumptious ice creams and walked through the pretty seaside town.

An excellent evening was spent at the Yarmouth Dog Racing where we had our very own executive box!  There were winners on every race - Go Team JollyDays!  Well done to all for some fantastically loud cheering and for supporting each other!

We had a great time on holiday and everyone returned home with HUGE smiles on their faces!
