Out & About on The Isle of Wight with Colin, Phil & Jeanette

Excitedly, we all met up and drove down to Brockenhurst in the New Forest, where we stopped at the beautiful  “Rose & Crown” pub to have lunch before crossing on the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. After arriving at our Hotel, Norton Grange, we set off to check out our fantastic accommodation before unpacking and freshening up before dinner.

 

During our week away we went to the lovely Ryde to watch the amazing "Waltzing Waters".  Everyone enjoyed the wonderful performance of the coloured water display that was set to popular music.  We took a picturesque drive to the Island's Donkey Sanctuary where we were able to stroke them and watch them feed. 

As it is always a firm favourite, we had a fab game of bowling with lots of strikes scored!  Afterwards we visited the famous Needles and admired the stunning coastal views.  We watched a demonstration of glass blowing at the glass factory. It was a fascinating process!  On another day we visited the wonderful Osborne House, Queen Victoria's seaside palace.  We got an insight into the fascinating history of the house and took in the splendour of everything inside.  

 

The entertainment at our hotel was outstanding. 
We always watched the entertainment in the evenings and even had a few games of bingo!  We watched a special guest performance by "Bobby Dazzler", a comedienne, singer and magician.  We were all stars on the dance floor, and as usual, were the last to leave at the end of the evening!  The entertainment staff even suggested we join the team! 

As always our last day came much too quickly. After breakfast we boarded the ferry back to Lymington and took a drive through the New Forest stopping to watch many of the wild ponies that were wandering around. We headed for Burley and had a filling lunch at the Burley Inn where all chatted about the highlights of the holiday! It was then time for us all to make our various journeys home and say goodbye to new friends made.
