Alton Towers & The Beautiful Derbyshire Countryside!
Due to uncontrollable events, Tony & Gary were able to enjoy 2 extra days on a JollyDays Supported holiday in a picturesque Essex Village.
On the Saturday they enjoyed a day at the Point to Point horse racing at High Easter followed by a Sunday visit to Cambridge where they saw the magnificent historic university buildings and punted on the River Cam.
On Monday, Andrew joined the group and travelled onto Derbyshire where they spent two fun packed days at Alton Towers theme park. On Thursday we cycled 20 miles on the Tissington Trail, and the only person to fall off was team member, Pat, who insisted that the sign post jumped in front of her! Ho Ho!
Friday, was spent leisurely at our luxurious country park base, where we swam, played pool and had a BBQ.
Saturday, we visited the beautiful Chatsworth House and Country Estate where we enjoyed walking around the house and magnificent grounds.
Sunday, we visited the Heights of Abraham, went on the cable car and visited two different caves.
Monday, sadly we had to make our way home but stoped off in the beautiful town of Market Harborough for lunch.
The sun shone throughout the whole week and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and can't wait to come back.
VOLCANO!
Volcano leads to change in JollyDays Supported Holidays planned holiday venue. Portaventura became Alton Towers and the Derbyshire National Park - The Sun Shone every day!
Thanks to the flexibility of our customers and staff, JollyDays Supported Holidays were able to run another brilliant supported holiday. See our next blog!
