Potters Leisure Resort (Five Lakes) with Jamie & Lisa

Potters Leisure Resort
We got stuck in with an Archery sessions which took place outdoors, where we were shown proper technique before competing to hit the targets. Concentration and steady hands were rewarded, and earning gold medals was a proud moment for the group.

The pool table quickly became a focal point, with careful shots, light-hearted rivalry, and plenty of encouragement from those watching. Darts was just as enjoyable, with relaxed throws, the occasional near-miss, and lots of laughter as we cheered one another on.

Music and movement played a big part in the holiday. Line dancing sessions brought everyone together, with simple routines set to live country music that had us stepping, turning, and laughing our way through the afternoon. One particularly special moment was the ABBA dance workshop, led by one of the resort’s professional dancers, who guided us through routines to well-loved songs.

The creative sessions quickly became favourites. During mug decorating, we were each given a plain ceramic mug along with stencils, glitter pens, and colourful markers, and encouraged to design something completely personal. It was lovely to see how different everyone’s designs were, from bold patterns to thoughtful pictures inspired by favourite things.  Later in the week, we took part in canvas tote bag painting, using stencils and bright paints to create practical keepsakes that reflected our personalities. These relaxed sessions gave us time to chat, laugh, and admire each other’s work, making the activities as social as they were creative.

Evenings were filled with high-quality entertainment. We enjoyed a range of shows in the theatre, including cabaret-style performances, tribute acts, and energetic themed productions. These shows combined live singing, dancing, comedy sketches, and impressive costumes, keeping us entertained night after night. Bingo before the shows added extra excitement, while live music in the bars allowed us to sing along and unwind in a more relaxed setting. The silent disco was another highlight, with everyone wearing headphones and choosing between music channels, resulting in a wonderfully chaotic dance floor full of mismatched moves and smiles.
In the sports hall, we enjoyed casual games shuffleboard, and curling, often pairing up or cheering one another on.

Swimming and time in the Jacuzzi offered a chance to fully relax, with the warm water easing tired muscles and providing a calm contrast to the busier activities.

We stopped off for a game of bowling, where friendly competition quickly took over. There were plenty of cheers for strikes, good-natured groans at the balls that ended in the gutter with lots of laughter between turns.
