Sunny Norfolk Broads

JollyDays Supported Holidays had a wonderful time in sunny Norfolk.

We arrived on the Monday, mid afternoon and looked around our bungalow and explored the garden which led us straight to the broad at Neatishead.....how beautiful!

No time to waste, so off to a pretty pub for dinner situated on the river.

Tuesday was packed full of fun on the broads. First off we went for a cruise in a motor cruiser in the morning. Our experienced skipper (Anita) pointed out the wild life as we went along. We were lucky enough to see several herons and even a marsh harrier. In the afternoon we went canoeing and even had time to go sailing. Ted was the captain and really showed us a good time. In the evening we visited Norwich to see the night life. Luckily we found ourselves a karaoke bar and had a good laugh. Also we all had a boogie.

On Wednesday, John took us for a full day cruise and even allowed us to drive the cruiser, under his expert eye. We stopped for a picnic and a walk through the bluebell woods. We were fortunate enough to have a small boat pull up beside us offering ice creams.....what luck!! As the weather was so good we had a BBQ late afternoon. In the evening we decided to take a trip into Great Yarmouth, where we spent a late night in the ten-pin bowling alley, while others may have decided on an early night in front of the tele. Well done to Mary.......she won the second game!

Another beautiful day on Thursday. Off to the steam railway for a trip in Sheringham where we stopped for another ice cream as we sat down by the sea. The return journey made you very nostalgic as the steam blew over the fields. A curry night had been decided upon, and we took another short trip into Norwich. Afterwards there was a pub stop to have a drink and another ice cream.......

A sad farewell was given to the bungalow and the Norfolk Broads on Friday late morning. But that isn't the end.......JollyDays Supported Holidays are never in too much of a rush to go home, so we stopped off in Southwold for fish and chips and a stroll on the beach. Poor Kerri managed to get a little wet as she wrestled with me.......better luck next time Kerri.

And still that was not the end.....next stop was a beautiful setting, sitting outside a pub with our picnic by the river in Nayland.

Finally we had to say good bye......but we hope to see you all again soon!

Our thanks have to go to the great people at the Nancy Oldfield Trust for having made us so welcome....thanks Robin, Anita, Ted and John.

Messing about on the Water

Norfolk Broads

Just had a phone call from Derek to say that everyone has had a great day, cruising, canoeing and sailing in Norfolk. The weather has been great so far and they will be back out on the water again tomorrow. Look out for JollyDays Supported Holidays photos of the Norfolk Broads which will be available early next week!

NON-STOP FUN!

AT BUTLINS BOGNOR REGIS
JollyDays Supported Holidays had another fantastically fun time at Butlins, Bognor Regis. Yet again we were blessed with a dry week with regular sunshine between the clouds.

Our apartments were really nice with our own full kitchen and lounge where we could relax between events.
The first night we were off to "Centre Stage" to see the welcome show with the Redcoats. The other nights we also spent in the same venue watching the Beatles Experience, a Queen variety show and a really good singalong with the Abba show. We all had our dancing shoes on and danced late into the night every night. Michelle even got up on stage and danced in a competition. She was so good that she came second! Well done to Michelle. During the day we spent time in the swimming world where the slides and flumes were the centre of our fun. Jackolyn, Michelle and Bruce enjoyed themselves a great deal.Other fun times were had at the funfair, where the brave took to the high rides with much glee. We even had a go on the bumper cars.

Ten-pin bowling was another highlight, with Donica and Andrew impressing me the most......Andrew even managed to beat me once (Derek).

It was quite sad when we had to leave, but on the way home we stopped off at a lovely country pub for a meal before heading home. Pat, Linda and Derek are in need of a foot bath to sooth their aching feet before their next adventure.

New friendships were made and we at JollyDays Supported Holidays are looking forward to seeing every one again soon.
