Germany & The Moselle River
Set within a peaceful valley and surrounded by rolling vineyards, Eurostrand offered breathtaking views and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

Several excursions added depth and variety to the week. A full-day tour took the group to the picturesque town of Saarburg, where medieval charm, riverside views, and the striking Leukbach waterfall provided countless photo opportunities.

Another unforgettable day was spent cruising along the Moselle River to Bernkastel-Kues. Sitting on the top deck, the group enjoyed the gentle pace of the river, watching vineyards and historic villages glide past. Bernkastel itself felt like a fairytale, with cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, flower-filled window boxes, and the famous Spitzhäuschen leaning proudly into the market square. A sightseeing land train offered sweeping panoramic views from above the town, including castle ruins perched high on the hillsides, before the relaxing boat journey back to Leiwen.
The following days blended relaxation with activity perfectly. Sunshine greeted the group most mornings, making breakfast walks warm and pleasant before enjoying the resort’s wide selection of food. Swimming quickly became a favourite pastime, with hours spent racing, splashing, attempting aqua aerobics, and simply enjoying the outdoor pool while taking in the spectacular vineyard views. Laughter echoed through the resort as everyone embraced the holiday spirit.

One of the standout experiences of the week was the wine-focused exploration of Leiwen and its surrounding vineyards. A leisurely walk through the village revealed colourful window boxes, historic grape presses, and sweeping views down to the Moselle River. The highlight was an afternoon wine tasting at Nik Weis – St. Urbans-Hof winery, where the group learned about traditional wine-making methods and sampled a selection of beautifully crafted wines. Guided by the knowledgeable Anna, the experience was both informative and relaxed, leaving everyone with new appreciation—and a few bottles and souvenirs to take home.Getting up close to deer, emus, donkeys, goats, and wild boar was a delight for everyone, and the visit ended perfectly with ice creams enjoyed in the sunshine. On the journey back, the dramatic sight of the twin medieval castle ruins at Manderscheid left a lasting impression.
From impressive live shows featuring acrobatics and fire performances to cheering on the Lionesses during their thrilling semi-final victory, the group shared moments of excitement, pride, and togetherness. Conversations flowed late into the evenings on the terrace, with laughter carrying across the warm summer air.

From line dancing to the Macarena, the dance floor was soon full, and it was clear that JollyDays know how to party!
