The Wonders of the Isle of Wight with Candy & Netty

The Wonders of the Isle of Wight

The infamous landmark, The Needles was an incredible sight as the white chalk pointed out of the beautiful blue sea. We visited the sand shop where we got to fill little ornaments with the different brightly coloured sand.

We made sure we bought some souvenirs to take home to remind us of our brilliant holiday.

We spent a very interesting afternoon watching a demonstration on glass blowing. It was really fascinating  and we watched a vase being made straight from scratch.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the picturesque village of Godshill. Here they have a miniature model village which is a replica of Godshill itself. There were lots of miniature village scenes and the attention to detail is amazing and so  lifelike.

Stopping off at the Donkey Sanctuary was a lovely way to end the afternoon. We were allowed to stroke and feed them which was a wonderful experience. We all agreed that the staff did a wonderful job looking after these rescued animals.

A great morning on board The White Line, which  took us through Cowes, where we had incredible views of all the sailing boats. We sailed past the Spinicare Tower, which our Captain told us was the tallest building on the south coast and cost a staggering £30 million to build! We continued our journey to Portsmouth harbour and got a glimpse of the British war fleet.

We always look forward to the fabulous evening entertainment. We were treated to live shows every night from a Motown tribute act to a super Country and Western singer. Without fail we were always up on the dance floor, partying the night away.

We spent a wonderful morning showing off our artistic skills painting pottery. We got to choose from a variety of animal figures, cups and plates before we started intricately painting them. A lovely, calm and relaxing activity and we were all excited to see what they looked like after they had been glazed. I think its fair to say we were all very proud of our final masterpieces.

We love to end an active day with a few games of pool in the sports bar.

Making the most of the glorious sunshine we took a walk along the woodland path spotting wildlife along the way. The views were so beautiful as the sun shone through the tall pine trees.

Spending the evening at the bowling alley is always great fun. Friendly rivalry, playing against each other, Girls vs Boys. After some very close games and high scores the boys came out victorious. The girls were great sports and gave the boys 'three cheers'.

The weather wasn't going to dampen our spirits as we took on the challenging crazy golf course. We played with enthusiasm and with smiles on our faces as we tried to score a lucky 'hole in one'.

We challenged each other to a game of doubles on the badminton courts. Some great rallies were had.
We proved to be quite good at table tennis, too. A fun afternoon of sport.

Disneyland Paris with Isobel & Darren

The magic of Disney really does exist. From the minute we walked into the park we could see the beautiful princess castle in the distance. The main street was decorated in a Halloween theme with musicians entertaining us with their lively music. We were thrilled when we spotted Minnie and Mickey Mouse for the first time. They gave us a huge wave and we couldn't wait to meet them properly later that day.

Meeting the lovable Mikey Mouse was a dream come true. He was a real cheeky character and we loved having our photo taken with him. He even signed our autograph books!

There were so many fantastic rides to go on and we think we managed most of them! One of our favourite rides was Dumbo the Elephant ride where we flew through the air. It's a Small World was also a popular hit with the group,  full of colourful displays of costumes and songs from all around the world.

Enjoying a relaxing journey on the Molly Brown Western River Liner, a replica of an old paddle steamer. This lovely boat sailed along the river allowing us to catch a glimpse of some gorgeous scenery, wildlife and great views of the roller coaster rides.

A spot of  shopping was a must! We bought lots of little souvenirs to remind us of our magical holiday.
