New Year's Party with Colin T & Netty C

New Year's Party!

We all chose to head to the games room to play pool, darts and air hockey. It was so much fun competing against each other!

We were so excited to watch the pantomime Dick Whittington, acted out by the entertainment team. Oh what a show and we laughed at all the jokes and booed at the pantomime baddies. We even had the opportunity to have a picture with the cast!

In the dining room we found our table decorated with balloons and crackers. After a delicious feast we were ready to party the night away.

The ABBA tribute act were amazing! We loved dancing and singing along to their greatest hits.

Before we knew it it was almost midnight. We were surprised and excited to hear the sound of a Scottish Piper bellowing in the background. We waved our flags and celebrated with our new friends as the clock struck 12. As balloons fell from the ceiling we wished each other a Happy New Year. We held hands and all sang along to Auld Lang Syne. A truly memorable night.

We all gathered round the huge lake to watch the spectacular firework display, that lit up the night sky!

New Years Party with Andy B & Claire M

New Year

Party!

We all voted for bowling to be the first activity. Everyone tried their best to get a strike and we had some very impressive scores!

We all changed into our best clothes for the evening ahead.

The evening entertainment extravaganza was performed by Jackson 5 tribute band playing all their classic hits followed by the band, Crackerjack. Everyone could not wait to get up on the dance floor and boogie!

Just before the countdown to New Year a bagpipe player in full Scottish regalia piped us into the New Year in style! We sang at the top of our voices to Auld Lang Syne as the clock struck 12.

We had lots of fun at our Archery class. We all was excited to practice our skills with a bow and arrow, endeavouring to hit targets rather than an apple on someone's head!

The highlight was the festive pantomime Dick Whittington..... Oh no it wasn't..... Oh yes it was! The entertainment team did a cracking job with the costumes and acting. We all had a tremendous time being part of the fun!

Christmas Celebrations with Midi & Marguerite

Christmas Celebrations

We took a stroll around the grounds as it was a nice clear day. We took a couple of scenic photos around the main pond that was a nesting ground for a variety of birds.

We discovered the games room where we spent some time playing pool, table tennis, darts and various other fun games.

We couldn't believe it! Santa had been! We excitedly opened our presents and made our way to meet the magical man himself!

The sight of Santa Claus making his way to each table to hand out gifts to us all. We couldn’t wait to meet the man of the moment in Santa's grotto. He was so friendly; everybody got a warm welcoming hug as we took turns to have our photos with him and his cheeky elves.

The Christmas lunch was a delicious traditional turkey dinner with all the fun of the noisy party poppers and crackers. We put on our hats and all took it in turns to tell the funny jokes.

We visited the Lakeside Coastal Village where we had booked an archery session. The competition continued and the group did very well showing off their bow and arrow skills. A few good shots on target were made by Armon, Gwen and Linda. Marguerite needs more practice (was the advice from the group)!

Panto time, oh yes it was! We weren’t disappointed as Dick Whittington and his cat took us on his journey to London. The energetic, funny, colourful performance was great fun. We even got a chance to take photos with the performers at the end.

We all changed in to our best clothing for the evening ahead!

The evenings were full of fabulous entertainment with familiar Christmas favourites and the  more popular dances: line dancing and the Cha- Cha- Cha. That proved to be a hit with our group!
