Mediterranean Cruise Adventure with Steve, Michaela & Midi

  Mediterranean Cruise Adventure

After our flight to Croatia we went to the port in Dubrovnik, where we excitedly boarded our lovely ship, the Marella Celebration.

Our first dock was in the port of Koper, in Slovenia. It had everything from historic castles and art nouveau buildings to alpine mountains and vine covered hills. It was truly beautiful. We wandered around the medieval quarters and down the cobbled streets and took photos of the beautiful architecture and of course we browsed around the gift shops.

We enjoyed soaking up the beautiful sunshine on the sun beds and around the pool. We definitely needed a few dips in the pool too cool off!

In Ancona, Italy, we visited the beautiful city in the sunshine. We walked passed Ancona Cathedral, the Arch of Trajan and the statue of Camillo Benso.

In the evening we all got our glad rags on and everyone made such an effort to look very smart indeed.

Everyone was looking forward to getting off the ship and exploring the beautiful city of Venice, Italy. With 117 islands, 150 canals and more than 400 bridges we were all blown away by the beauty of this fabulous floating city. We walked the bank’s of the huge waterway lined with more than 180 buildings dating back to the 13th and 18th century.

In Sibenik we visited the Cathedral of Saint James. It was really impressive with its Gothic and Renaissance style architecture. We tip toed around in amazement at this heritage site.

While we slept our crew sailed us to the petite town of Hvar, Croatia. This town has so much history with its ancient wall’s and palaces overlooking the busy bay. The local street market had produce of lavender, handmade jewellery and so much more. Plenty for us to buy! We walked the cobbled streets and looked in awe at the huge, expensive boats and yachts.

The entertainment on board was fantastic! We all loved singing and dancing along the amazing live band. We especially enjoyed watching the Las Vegas performance, a superb Broadway show and stand-up comedian!
