Butlins, Fun & Dancing (Skegness) with Lawrence, Netty & Rachel

Butlins, Fun & Dancing

One of our favourite things to do at Butlins is meet the wonderful Redcoats. They are always so friendly and make us feel welcome. We love stopping them for a photo!

A fantastic time was had at the funfair and we were keen to go on as many rides as we could. Our favourites being the spinning waltzer, bumping into each other on the dodgems and riding the graceful horses on the carousel.

We never miss a  photo opportunity!

Every night we were blown away by the incredible live shows. We were dazzled by mind boggling tricks by the illusionist and were treated to some spectacular tribute acts; our favourites being the pop legend, Elton John and the sensational girl group Little Mix. All their upbeat songs and energetic dances had us up on our feet, dancing the night away.

The sun was shining as we walked around Natureland Seal Sanctuary. We fed the huge Koi Carp, visited the Penguins and fed the greedy Goats and Alpacas. We were lucky enough to see the Seals and theirs pups being fed as we listened to the keeper as he explained how they were looked after. We visited some of the pups in the animal hospital who had been rescued and were being nursed back to health before being released back into the sea. We loved walking through the tropical house, admiring the varied species of plants and the colourful, delicate butterflies fluttering around us.

A competitive game of bowling commenced, girls verses boys! After a fantastic effort, all scoring highly we crowned Gary champion for the boys and Alana was the winner for the girls team. We had great fun cheering each other on, showing great sportsmanship.

At the Discovery Studio we had a brilliant time learning about some smaller animals including, spiders, mice and snakes, which the brave amongst our group got to hold, along with the bearded dragon.

It was ‘Panto time'.... Oh no it wasn’t, Oh yes it was! A fantastic performance of the classic tale, Sleeping Beauty, filled us with fun and laughter as the Pantomime Dame told her hilarious jokes and we booed and hissed at the evil Maleficent.

We tackled this fun, crazy golf course and tried our best to get ‘a hole in one’. Alana was having a lucky day as she was the overall winner!
