Out & About on the Isle of Wight with Phil, Pat & Netty

What a cracker of a holiday we had on the beautiful Isle of Wight!  We had an exciting ferry journey and shouted a big 'HELLO!' to our glorious home for the week.  Our complex was lovely and we settled into our comfortable rooms right away!

Each morning we ate a fantastic hearty breakfast, with so much to choose from!  We visited the picturesque Allum Bay, where we saw the famous Needles standing tall in the sparkling sea.  What a sight!   We watched the wonderful glass blowing demonstrations which we all found amazing!  They made the most intricate and beautiful vases right before our very eyes.  We popped into the sweet factory and saw how sweets are made from start to finish - Delicious!

We made our own sand shapes, filling our containers with the colourful sand of Allum Bay. Well done to all for some very creative masterpieces!

We visited the very pretty little village of Godshill where we went to the amazing model village.  The miniature world fascinated us all as we wandered leisurely around.  It was then off to the spectacular Waltzing Waters, a wonderful water and lights show that dazzled us all.

A trip to the Donkey Sanctuary was a firm favourite, as we made friends with the Donkeys and got to stroke their soft fur.  It was lovely to see them being so well cared for.
We had a super game of ten pin bowling in Ryde, which had a beautiful beach and promenade.  We went for a refreshing stroll in the sunshine!

We danced our socks off each night and enjoyed the marvellous shows put on by the brilliant entertainment team.  Everybody went home with huge smiles on their faces, chatting enthusiastically about their holiday!
