Christmas in Cambridge with Isobel & Duncan

 Christmas in Cambridge

A beautiful winters day was spent bobbing along the River Cam on a famous Cambridge punt. Our expert tour guide was so knowledgable, telling us all about the historic bridges, buildings and universities.

We hit the local bowling alley for an evening of fun. The completion was fierce as we all tried our hardest to hit a strike! Later on we tried our luck on the arcade, winning tickets in exchange for prizes!

A magical evening was spent at the Enlightened Hylands Light Trail. We walked around the beautiful grounds and were treated to an amazing display of all kinds of lights and lasers in every colour imaginable.Everywhere you looked the night sky was twinkling in magical lights.

We felt really lucky to have experienced such a festive delight.

We spent the morning at Cambridge University, visiting the Museum of Zoology which is housed in the David Attenborough building. This was jam packed, full of crazy and fascinating exhibits from the natural world from exotic birds and mammals to more familiar creatures we find on our own shores. It was fascinating.

The market was in full swing, with plenty of tourists, including ourselves browsing the interesting stalls. We all managed to buy a few gifts to remind us of our time here.

We had to squeeze in a trip to the garden centre, Scotsdales. It turned out to be an absolute mecca for the Christmas enthusiast! We enjoyed walking around the huge garden centre checking out all the beautiful Christmas decorations.
