We had a trouble free journey and unpacked in
our delightful bungalows before dining at a local pub. Upon our return to the
leisure resort we ventured into the lounge area of the clubhouse and watched
the last part of Man Utd winning the league title before retiring to bed.
After a full English breakfast we went into
Blackpool and went to the Tower Circus which was very enjoyable. On returning
to our resort we dressed for dinner at our favourite fish & chip shop in
Lytham. We had a great dinner and then went down along the strip in Blackpool
to see the lights and we especially enjoyed seeing the tower all lit up. It was
a good day and we sang all the way home to a 50’s CD.The next day we once again we set off to Blackpool in the disco bus. Sea world was our first stop where we touched fish and held starfish. We saw sharks and stingrays swimming overhead. It was then on to Madame Tussauds for the thrill of posing with some of our favourite “stars”. Lunch was taken at a nice little cafe and finished off with hot doughnuts. Next was the Dungeons where we were both frightened and excited with much laughter throughout. A few souvenir photos in key rings were bought as gifts. Dinner that night was at a very nice Indian restaurant which was appreciated by one and all. Afterwards it was back to the clubhouse on our resort and we finished the evening singing and disco dancing.
Back in Blackpool the next day, even with the wind and rain we didn’t let it dampen our spirits, we went shopping for some musical CD’s and some DVD’s. It was then decided to go 10 pin bowling and nearly everyone scored a strike. After lunch we had a walk along the promenade before getting onto a tram and seeing the whole of Blackpool. Returning to the resort we got ready for the evening, had pizza dinner and went to the clubhouse for bingo and dancing. Unfortunately there were no winners amongst us!
After breakfast the following day, we went for a walk in the sunshine off to the tables and stroked some horses. We then went into Blackpool and visited the Tower. We had tea and sandwiches whilst watching the ballroom dancing. We went up the tower and enjoyed the terrific views. A final stop in the amusement arcade and then took a drive along the coast and waved goodbye to all the places we had visited during the week. Dinner was back at everyone’s favourite fish & chip shop and once again we finished the night dancing at our disco on the resort.
Our last morning, we packed up the minibus and drove off through the countryside and found ourselves a very nice pub for lunch before our final journey home.
