Stadium Tours - Premiership Football Clubs (South) with Darren & Isobel

Stadium Tours - Premiership Football Clubs

The first stop on our football tour was at Stamford Bridge, home to Chelsea FC.

We were met by our tour guide who invited us all to follow in our favourite legend’s footsteps past and present. Our first stop was the press room, and we were all invited to sit in Pochetino’s, the managers seat for some photos.

We visited both the home and away dressing rooms which had lots of football shirts from past and present players before having a sneak peak of the ice bath and physiotherapy room.

As we walked through the players tunnel, we felt the excitement as a recording of the fans on a match day was played as we came out to the pitch; it was such an amazing experience. We sat in the dugout soaking up the atmosphere before making our way up to the top of the stadium and getting an amazing view of the whole stadium. The groundsmen were busy making sure the pitch was in perfect condition.

We're forever blowing bubbles! Our football fans headed to Stratford and the Olympic Park in London for our second stadium tour. This fantastic ground is the home of West Ham football club and was built for the Olympics in 2012. It certainly was an impressive sight to see, and we were all excited to take the tour.

We were greeted by our guide who showed us around the VIP lounges and then brought us through to the players entrance, changing rooms, dugouts, tunnel and we took a look at the some of the Olympic facilities which still remained, including where they had the 100 metre a warm-up track indoors.

It was so fantastic to be able to sit in the exact spot as some of our most favourite football players.

We couldn't resist hitting the gift shop to buy a few souvenirs. Football shirts were a popular choice and some of us even got them personalised.

Our last stop of the tour and some would say we had saved the best till last. As we approached the stadium we felt like we were about to walk into a spaceship. Once inside it didn't fail to amaze us, and we learnt that this new stadium is the largest in Europe and the most technologically advanced stadium in the world!

We met Adam, our wonderful guide, who did a fabulous job of showing us around. Again, we saw the away and home team changing rooms, the press room, VIP lounges, tunnel and pitch. Each area was ultra-luxurious compared to those at West Ham and Arsenal. To our surprise a former player of Tottenham, Paul Allen was in the building so Adam went to see if he could locate him and brought us back a signed photo which just made our day even more special.

We also learnt that the pitch was a moveable one and could be set up for football or NFL games.
