Warner's Party Weekend with Darren & Isobel

 Warner's Party Weekend

It was time to put on our party clothes and start our 60's party weekend off with a bang!

With our dancing shoes on we danced the night away in true JollyDays style to some incredible tribute acts who performed hits from pop icons such as The Beatles, The Hollies & Elvis.

We were so lucky to be able to get photos and cd's from some of the acts.

When we weren't on the dance floor there were so many great activities for us to join in with. We soon got the hang of curling and managed to score highly. There was only one point in it! The Red Team came out victorious.

A new game for us to try was Cornhole. The aim of the game was to stand opposite your opponent and throw a bean bag into the small hole situated on a wooden platform. Well-done to Ruth and Louise for being part of the winning team.

Another great evening ensued with amazing music and plenty of dancing, culminating in an unforgettable performance by The Monkees Tale. The night ended on a high with their most famous hit Daydream Believer being saved till last! The dance floor was full to burst with everyone showing off their disco moves.

We headed down to the archery shed to practise our best Robin Hood impersonations. After a short demonstration we were soon ready to begin. Everyone did extremely well with most of the arrows hitting the target, some even got a bullseye!

The afternoon entertainment began with DJ TERRY G getting us all up on our feet until Nancy Ann Lee performed a tribute to one of the most iconic women in pop, Lulu. She sang Shout! Boom Bang-a-Bang and many more songs from other 60’s pop divas. We didn’t need any persuading to boogie on down to Vanity Fare, a popular group during the 60’s who played their famous hits such as Early in The Morning, Hitchin A Ride and many more. It took us right back!
