Having arrived at Butlins in Skegness everyone was pleased with our spacious accommodation and we immediately set out to explore the various attractions around the camp.
Swimming featured highly on this holiday with everyone spending 2 hours each morning in the pool and getting pretty tired climbing all the steps to the many slides available. Everyone enjoyed the slides but Mikey was probably our champion riding all of the slides many times.
Everyone was kept busy all week enjoying pool, 10 pin bowling, golf, the fun fair and amusements. Colin had a lucky run to win the 10 pin bowling but Adrian came out tops in the pool competition.
During the week we also popped into Skegness a couple of times where we enjoyed a fish & chips lunch and the compulsory afternoon ice cream.
We were so lucky to have great weather all week and it was very nice to have a couple of walks on the beach even though it was still March.
The fun didn't stop in the evenings either as we were treated to some very good entertainment including an Abba evening and on another occasion a Beatles tribute band.Dancing continued until after midnight every evening and by the end of the week both Colin and Wendy were ready to return home for a rest.

The Magic of EuroDisney with Derek & Pat - March 2011
Part of the adventure of a holiday is the travelling and we were lucky enough to cross the Channel in the new P&O ferry, “Spirit of Britain”. It was very nice indeed.
After a hearty breakfast of cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, egg, bacon, sausage and toast, all washed down with tea, we were off to the park.
Well, what a start.....immediately we were inside we managed to get a photograph with Mickey Mouse. That was great! It wasn’t long before we had another photo shoot with Cinderella and also got her autograph.
We ventured into Fantasyland where we flew on Dumbo the flying elephant, took a turn on the Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups, took a flight with Peter Pan, climbed onto Le Carrousel de Lancelot (Becky showed her horse riding skills), had a trip on Casey Jr. - le Petit Train, had a boat trip (Le Pays des Contes de Fees) and of course “it’s a small world”..........once sung, never forgotten!!
Then onto Discoveryland and having a blast with Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast and took in a show watching Captain EO.
Late in the day we watched the Disney parade, which was marvellous.
The next day we happily went off for another full and spectacular day in the Disney Studio Park. Again we managed an early photo shoot with Minnie and also got her autograph. We had a fantastic day going to CineMagique, Animagique, Playhouse Disney Live on Stage, seeing Stitch Live, taking the Studio Tram Tour and watching the incredible Moteurs...action! Stunt Show Spectacular. Wow....that is breath taking!
The Disney Stars “n” Cars parade was fabulous. Both Becky and Michelle managed to get loads of photographs and autographs of some of their favourite characters.
Becky and Derek took their lives in their own hands when they went on the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop.....I think we both held our breath. How brave were we?
Michelle took Pat on the Flying Carpet Ride three times....yes, three times!! It was nearly too much for Pat, but she managed only because Michelle was there to hold her hand. Well done Michelle.
The next day we had a day out to the Medieval town of Provins. We saw some very interesting towers and old walls of the city. This is where Becky bought a piece of Brie (her little bit of France) which is a special cheese of the region.
Return ferry journey in Langans Brasserie.
Irish Pipers.
Dancing in the street.
Medieval Provins.
Disney Parade.
So cuddly!!
The before......

Howdy partner.
Magic carpet for the third time!!

Lanzarote with Colin and Wendy - March 2011
We met at Luton Airport for a 11 a.m. flight. Hotel Beatrix was a short journey from the airport, where we checked into our spacious rooms.
The hotel was really lovely, with good food and great entertainment. We danced the night away almost everynight in the disco.
We entered a mini golf competition – which was won by our Nicki !! She was presented with a certificate.
Other activities included: French boules, archery, air-rifle target practice and swimming in the massive pool.
A coach took us to Rancho Texas, where we were treated to a bird display, sea-lion show and a parrot show. There were other animals to see and we all especially liked the white tiger.
Off on another coach trip which took us to the National Park where we viewed the volcanoes and amazing landscape. We were lucky enough to enjoy a camel ride!
Thanks to Nicki, Michael, Tom and Samantha for making the holiday so much fun!
Line dancing?
One lump or two?
Gaming room.
Trip down the prom.
Swimming lesson.
A bicycle made for more than two.
Taking a much needed rest.
Look out Robin Hood.
Anyone for boules?
Fore!
Seems as though everyone has their passports.

Center Parcs Nottingham Forest March 2011
The first holiday of the year was yet again another success. as always, Center Parcs offers great accommodation and a whole host of activities. Our group of holiday makers enjoyed the swimming pool with it's flumes , cascades, rapids and the wave machine. Another hit was the ten-pin bowling closely followed by a game of pool. Naturally, disco dancing and some live jazz helped the party go with a swing. Good food and great company helped make it a very enjoyable break.
