Motor Madness & Silverstone
Our car mad group travelled to the legendary Silverstone Circuit to explore the Silverstone Museum. Known as the home of British motorsport, the museum tells the story of the circuit’s origins as a World War II airfield and its transformation into one of the world’s most famous racing tracks. Interactive exhibits, historic racing cars and immersive displays brought the sport to life, including the chance to sit inside a Formula One car. The dramatic finale recreated the thrill of standing on the race grid as engines roared around them. After lunch overlooking the circuit, the group visited Luffield Corner, where they were lucky enough to watch classic racing cars speeding around the track during a filming session.

We visited the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. After exploring the charming high street and visiting Shakespeare’s birthplace, they discovered the unusual MAD Museum, filled with fascinating moving sculptures and interactive mechanical inventions. Later we enjoyed a peaceful walk along the River Avon before visiting the Butterfly Farm, where colourful butterflies flew freely through tropical gardens. One memorable moment came when a butterfly quietly landed on Andrew’s hat, much to everyone’s amusement.

The excitement continued on Tuesday with a thrilling go-karting experience at Formula Fast Indoor Karting. After safety briefings and practice sessions, everyone raced the powerful karts around the indoor track, producing impressive overtakes and plenty of competitive moments. Andrew finished in first place, followed by David and Jacob.
It was off to Millets Wildside Wildlife Park, meeting a variety of animals including reptiles, birds and playful meerkats. A spectacular birds of prey display saw majestic birds soaring overhead, and the day ended with a visit to the petting area where goats, rabbits and llamas could be seen up close.
