Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country with Roger & Netty

  Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country

We stopped for a drink in ‘The Woolpack’ of Emmerdale fame, which is in the village of Esholt.

Another day we headed to Wensleydale Creamery, driving through some beautiful countryside. We watched a demonstration of cheese making and tasted all the different cheeses. Yummy!

We visited the ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ country in Holmfirth. We all thoroughly enjoyed looking around Compo's house, and watched some of the old TV series – we couldn’t stop laughing! We stopped at ‘Sid’s Cafe’ for a lovely lunch and had our photographs taken next to the pictures of the cast.

On a lovely sunny day we decided to take a trip to Skipton to go on a canal boat ride. This was very relaxing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. After the boat trip we visited Skipton castle

In Thornton Hall Country Park Farm we bottle fed some lambs and calves. We were also able to pick up lambs for a cuddle! We saw goats, sheep, emus lamas, alpacas, pigs and red deer while on a tractor ride around the huge farm. It was a fantastic visit!

For our last full day together, we went to Goathland, the home of 'Heartbeat'. We spent a lovely time visiting Scripps Garage and saw the old police cars that were used in the television show. We visited shops where some of us bought souvenirs and gifts.
