 Longleat Safari Park & Bath 

What a fantastic week we had as we welcomed spring with sunshine, laughter and plenty of adventure. The following two days were all about the incredible Longleat Safari Park. From giraffes and zebras to flamingos, pelicans and antelope, there was something amazing around every corner. The monkey drive-through was a huge hit, with mischievous monkeys climbing all over the minibus, peering through windows and even sitting on the mirrors! We also enjoyed the miniature railway, Jungle Cruise, sea lions, hippos, red pandas and the magnificent silverback gorillas. Feeding the sea lions was another memorable experience, while the Secret Gardens, giant anteater and meerkat enclosure gave us plenty more to explore.

Our second day at Longleat brought even more highlights, including the unforgettable experience of feeding the giraffes. We also spotted lions and wolves during feeding time, enjoyed another hilarious encounter with the monkeys and explored the bat cave, sloths, Jungle Kingdom and farm animals, with the kangaroos proving a particular favourite. 

A tour of the magnificent Longleat House then transported us back through centuries of history, with grand rooms, beautiful artwork, fascinating stories and even a few tales of ghosts! 


Thursday was a real journey through history as we explored the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. The ancient baths, Sacred Spring and Roman remains brought Bath's fascinating past to life, while tasting the famous spa water was certainly an experience! We then discovered the stunning Abbey, admired its incredible stained glass and fan-vaulted ceiling, before taking an open-top sightseeing bus around Bath's beautiful Georgian streets and architecture. Of course, we had to do some souvenir shopping! 

The next day brought another special experience at the Birds of Prey Project, where we met some incredible rescued birds and watched spectacular flying displays, including the hovering European kestrel and silent-flying tawny owl. 


Naturally, all that excitement called for a proper cream tea, complete with warm scones, cream, jam and plenty of tea! We then travelled west to Weston-super-Mare, where the glorious sunshine made the seaside feel positively Mediterranean.  Ice creams, beach walks, sunshine and a peaceful sunbathe made for a wonderfully relaxed afternoon.



   Saturday combined two group favourites:
shopping and steam trains!
After exploring independent shops and enjoying lunch in a cosy café, we travelled into Wales for a nostalgic ride on the Spirit of Adventure at Perrygrove Railway. The beautiful woodland scenery, steam, coal smoke and cheerful whistle made the 30-minute journey wonderfully memorable. With unlimited rides included, it didn't take long for everyone to agree that a second trip was definitely required!

  Farm Experience & Zoo What  fabulous start to our holiday as we headed to Boydells Farm to meet some of their friendly animals. We got stuck in feeding and stroking the cute shetland pony before being able to help lead her into the paddock.   The sheep and goats were adorable and loved us making a fuss of them.   We were so lucky to be able to cuddle the newborn lambs who were so fluffy. It was an amazing experience to be able to feed them some milk from the bottle.  A super day was spent at Colchester Zoo which is home to 160 different species. On arrival we could hear the cheeky chimps making so much noise. It was so funny as they mimicked our actions making us laugh out loud!      We loved being able to feed the rainbow lorikeets and they didn't hesitate to land on us as they swooped down to eat their food. The Wonders of the Isle of Wight with Phil & Lesley

  The Wonders of the Isle of Wight   The first stop was Alum Bay where we marvelled at the view across the Needles.  We then visited the sand shop where everyone made their own sand souvenirs, followed by a visit to the glass factory where we were shown how to make beautiful glassware. We visited the very pretty little village of Godshill where we went to the amazing model village. The miniature world fascinated us all as we wandered leisurely around.  At the local bowling alley we had a few great competitive game with one of the team members scoring a whopping 134! Our evenings were filled with a range of fantastic shows which ranged from live bands, tribute act from Neil Diamond and Rob Stewart!  This was the perfect opportunity for us to show off our brilliant dance moves! Cyprus Sun with Steve, Michaela & John

    Cyprus Sun     Our hotel was fantastic! We all loved relaxing around the swimming pool or down the beach which was only a few meters away. In the evening we all enjoyed dinner on the terrace with stunning views. We went on the original open top red bus tour to the Turkish side of the island. We had a tour guide giving us a commentary on board about the sights we saw and the history leading up to the Turkish invasion in 1974. We toured the walled city of Famagusta and saw the ghost town left unoccupied since the war.  We spent our evening in town exploring the buzzing streets and listened to live music in fantastic bars. We also took part in friendly pool tournament.
