New York, Broadway & Sightseeing with Colin and Mags

The adventures ahead of us made us bubble with anticipation as we whooshed off to "The Big Apple" on our very smooth BA flight.  Upon arriving at our hotel situated on the buzzing 7th Avenue, we were perfectly located in Midtown Manhattan for all the sights and attractions!

During our holiday we explored the best sights of New York!  We walked to the amazing Times Square and were astonished at amazing buildings, all lit up in glory.  There was so much going on and the atmosphere was just wonderful!

We got tickets for the Circle Line Sightseeing Tour, where we saw New York's most famous building and monuments.  We sailed close to the Statue of Liberty and sailed under all the famous bridges names after past Presidents.  We looked in awe at the Empire State Building, The United Nations building, the Yankee Stadium and much more!

We had a terrific open top bus tour and hopped off at Ground Zero and walked around the square that had previously been the Twin Towers.  We were very moved by the way that the Americans had built the remembrance monument for the 9/11 attacks.

Dressed up in our best, we couldn't wait to get onto Broadway and be blown away by the "Motown" show.  The show included over 100 Motown songs, all of which we knew!  We all danced along to Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye and many many others! What a night!

We loved our day at Central Park, just 15 minutes walk from our hotel.  On this day the heat had subsided a little and we had a marvellous time at the zoo! We saw many species of animals, had a picnic and ate delicious New York ice cream.

We saw Macy's and Bloomingdales and many other famous department stores  We stopped and bought traditional gifts and souvenirs to take home for our friends and family!  During our stay, we ate some incredibly tasty food and enjoyed breakfast out on a couple of occasions.  What an excellent, action packed holiday we had!
