Motor Madness & Silverstone with Maguerite & Jackie

Motor Madness & Silverstone  Our car mad group travelled to the legendary Silverstone Circuit to explore the Silverstone Museum . Known as the home of British motorsport, the museum tells the story of the circuit’s origins as a World War II airfield and its transformation into one of the world’s most famous racing tracks. Interactive exhibits, historic racing cars and immersive displays brought the sport to life, including the chance to sit inside a Formula One car. The dramatic finale recreated the thrill of standing on the race grid as engines roared around them. After lunch overlooking the circuit, the group visited Luffield Corner , where they were lucky enough to watch classic racing cars speeding around the track during a filming session.  Sunday brought more fun and friendly competition with a visit to Volcano Falls Adventure Golf in Milton Keynes. The tropical-themed course, complete with glowing lights and towering volcanoes, provided plenty of laughter a...

Warners, Fun & Dancing (Gunton Hall) Surrounded by woodland, the Warner Leisure resort provided a warm welcome and the group settled into their cosy woodland chalets. After unpacking and enjoying the essential first cup of tea, everyone gathered for a delicious three-course dinner before heading to the lively Lakeview Pavilion for the evening entertainment. The resident band Blue Ventura quickly filled the dance floor, with John and Jill leading the way, before West End performer Rebecca Lisewski delivered a fantastic show featuring songs from musicals including Starlight Express , Mamma Mia and Les Misérables . Energised for the day ahead, the group headed to the outdoor activity area to try archery . For Muriel it was a brand-new experience, but she soon found her aim and achieved an excellent score. When the weather turned cooler, everyone moved indoors to warm up with drinks and friendly games, including Connect 4, Snakes and Ladders and dominoes, where some playful co...

Ski Austria - Novice & Intermediate with Derek, Faye & Nina

Ski Austria - Novice & Intermediate The drive through snow-covered mountains brought us to our favourite hotel, where we were warmly welcomed. Wasting no time, the group collected their skis and headed straight to the slopes for our first afternoon of skiing. Andy quickly reunited with instructor Adrian and showed that his skills hadn’t faded, confidently practising turns and drills before skiing down the Rußbach run. Christine impressed instructor Martina with her natural ability, quickly progressing from snowplough turns to parallel skiing. Meanwhile Matthew joined the main group and skied confidently across the mountain, even tackling sections on one leg.  Fresh snowfall created perfect conditions. After a generous buffet breakfast, the group spent a full day skiing. Andy successfully completed the run to the village of Gosau through the forested slopes, achieving something he had been determined to do. Christine continued to build confidence on longer runs and even experie...
