Attractions of Blackpool

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

Making the most of the glorious weather we enjoyed strolling along the promenade, taking in the sights that Blackpool had to offer. We couldn't resist a tasty ice cream, too.

An amazing time was spent at Madame Tussauds getting up close and personal with some of our favourite celebrities.

We took part in I'm A Celebrity bush tucker trials and met the comedy duo Ant and Dec.

A trip to 'the cobbles' meeting our old time favourites.

We even met Royalty, where we practised our best Royal wave.

We couldn't come all the way to Blackpool and not meet the resident donkeys, who were more than happy for us to stroke them.

Another must was a trip up the famous Blackpool Tower. The views at the top were incredible and we were able to see for miles along the sandy coastline.

The brave amongst climbed all the way to the top, which is a staggering 401 feet about sea level. We also dared to walk across the glass floor, where we could see all the way down to the pavement.

A change of scene took us through the luscious green rolling hills of the Lake District. We boarded the old steam train and enjoyed chugging along the track admiring the beautiful views.

Down at the water’s edge we enjoyed one of Lake Windermere cruises. We soon boarded and bobbed along on a 35 minute voyage across the picturesque lake which is surrounded by huge, heavily wooded hills dotted with the occasional stone built house along its shore.

One afternoon we walked all the way to the end of the pier for some fun in the arcades. We spent our pennies trying our luck on the 2p machines.

Just for fun we decided to catch the miniature train back to the sea front which runs the full length of the pier too.

We took a ride on the Big Wheel which once again gave us breathtaking views of the long stretch of golden sand.
