Portugal Coastline with John, Led, Rachel & Marguerite

Portugal Coastline
How lucky were we to have this stunning beach next to our hotel. We couldn’t believe how beautiful it was and it was the longest stretch of sandy beach we had ever seen. We decided to have lunch in a lovely café just so we could admire the view some more.

We played lots of beach games such as volley ball and French boules. We spent hours playing and keeping score. We all liked a friendly bit of competition!

We spent the morning at the Sardine museum, as this part of Portugal was known for its fishing and especially the Sardines. The museum showed us a very interesting video on the history of this fishing town, and the way they used to catch the fish and arrange them out into tins ready to be distributed.

We loved spending our afternoons at the hotel pool, making the most of this glorious sunshine and relaxing by the pool.

The Zoo Marina was a fantastic day out. Our first stop was the dolphin and seal show. It was incredible to watch as these super, clever animals performed tricks in return for a treat! We saw colourful parrots, scary sharks, stingray and nemo the fish.

Another hard day spent lounging on the sunbed, splashing in the pool and perfecting our volleyball skills.

After our evening meals we  went in search for a bar that had some live music.
We found a great place with a lively atmosphere and we ended up being the last ones on the dance floor!

Our next adventure was our boat trip and we soon set sail for a tour of the caves. As we whizzed along the rocky coastline we could see the different colours in the water; from crystal clear to a turquoise to a deep dark blue. It was truly an amazing sight to see such natural beauty from the tiny pebbled beaches and where the sun shone through the holes in the caves. The boat slowed down as we navigated our way through the tiny caves before speeding up again in the wide open sea. With the wind in our hair we felt like we were in a James Bond movie, trying to chase the baddies.

A holiday wouldn't be a holiday without treating ourselves to a delicious ice cream sundae feast!
