Lake District Activity Centre with Midi & Netty

   Lake District Activity Centre

We all participated in a archery activity. We had great fun and all got much better at hitting the target as we practise more and more.

We headed to the beautiful Lake Windermere, for our day of canoeing. This is the largest lake in the UK which is 11 miles long! The sun was shining as we paddled around the stunning lake with amazing scenery of the mountains on one side and forests on the other.

Wall climbing was our activity this morning and everyone was surprised at how well they did. Everyone had an amazing morning challenging themselves to try the more difficult walls each time. We then tried our hand at abseiling. We first started on the indoor abseiling wall, then, as we all got braver we tried the outdoor 50 meter drop abseil!!! We all had so much fun doing this and felt very proud of everyone achievements.

At the arts and crafts class we made some spectacular art pieces out of clay.

At the rope course we had a real challenge but everyone did brilliantly.

Our first activity today was the zip wire, whizzing down at great speed looking out on spectacular sights of the surrounding area. We then went on the sensory swing listening to our favourite music as we swung high in the air.

We headed to Tarn Hows, a spectacular and stunning woodland area with a huge lake in the middle of the mountains. We walked around the lake which was about 3 miles long, taking in the scenery. It was so peaceful and still.

We had a camp fire night where we toasted marshmallows and sang songs around the fire.

We all got kitted up in our caving equipment and went to the Yorkshire Dales to a beautiful cave at Yordas. The cave was huge and unspoilt with a beautiful waterfall and stunning high walls and ceilings. Equipped with head lamps we crawled our way through the deep, dark tunnels. What an incredible experience!
