London Theatre & Sightseeing with Adrian & Netty

Time to head off to the best city in the world!  Having met up and had a delicious lunch, the excitement of exploring London was bubbling up in all of us!  We unpacked and, seeing as we were so close to Tower Bridge & St Catherine's dock, we set off to explore those first.  Tower Bridge was a stunning sight all lit up beautifully, and from the bridge you could see right across London.  We went over to Butlers Wharf with it's buzzing riverside bars & restaurants.  What an amazing start to our holiday.

During our week away, we went to Trafalgar Square where we saw lots of pigeons and the mighty lion statues.  We took a trip to Harrods and soaked up the magical atmosphere as we had lunch in the Sherlock Holmes pub.  We visited the Natural History Museum and learnt lots of interesting facts and looked at all of the wonderful displays.

We had the most fantastic open-top double decker bus Tour of London, and the weather was bright as we took in the magnificent sights of the vibrant city.  We hopped off at Buckingham Palace in good time to see the superb changing of the guards.  We took a stroll in Green Park and went to horse guards parade - what fun it was to see the soldiers in their big fluffy hats!

Our theatre trip was a spectacular experience.  We saw Matilda the Musical!  The cast of the show were very talented and they sang and danced extremely well.  Everyone loved how the stage looked so beautiful with lots of impressive lights.

One morning we took a guided river cruise from Tower Bridge to Westminster.  Once off the boat we crossed over to Westminster Bridge and ambled along the south side of the river taking in the wonderful sight of the London Eye.   We crossed over the Millennium Bridge to the North side of the river and went into the lovely St Pauls Cathedral.

It was a real adventure of a holiday loved by all. We visited Spittle fields Market before making our journey's home.  We had all made good friends and everyone said they would love to come again next year!
