Isle of Wight with Wendy, Guy & Adrian

After everyone was on board the JollyDays van we stopped for lunch at a Pub in the New Forest to get to know one another before taking the ferry to the Island and settling into our comfortable accommodation at the Warners Resort.

Although the weather was not what we had hoped for it didn’t dampen our spirits and as usual we got out and about on the Island. We took a trip on the steam train, went to see the Waltzing Waters and had a game of 10 pin bowling. Well done to Ernest who was the winner!

We visited Alum Bay to see the Needles and to fill models with coloured sand from the bay. We also went to the glass making factory where we watched a glass blowing demonstration and bought some presents. We drove on to Chessell potteries where we had a delicious cream tea before heading to the Donkey Sanctuary to see how well the many rescued donkeys are looked after.

We spent a fantastic day at The Seaview Wildlife Encounter Park. As well as just watching the many fascinating creatures there we were able to feed penguins, parrots and wallabies and to handle lizards, cockroaches, snakes, rabbits and ferrets!

On our last full day we headed to Godshill where we visited the model village and did some shopping before having lunch in a lovely café. We then drove to the coastal town of Ventnor for a stroll on the beach and to sample the ice cream.

Each evening after dinner we watched the excellent entertainment. There were Musical shows, comedians, and Tribute Bands and as always we were the last to leave the dance floor!

On our way home, once back on the mainland, we had a drive through the beautiful scenery of The New Forest then stopped at a Pub for our last meal together before starting our journeys home.
