Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap County with Duncan & Tracey
Yorkshire Dales, TV Soap Country Off to Oxenhope for our first steam train experience. First, we had plenty of time to look around the hall at some of the beautiful old steam engines and perfectly restored old coaches. Our private compartments were in a coach that was 110 years old as it was built in 1910! W e were soon chugging up the line to Keighley listening to the sound of the locomotion and the steam whistle tooting happily! We were so excited to be visiting Holmfirth, home to the much loved tv series Last of the Summer Wine. We kicked things off by visiting the world-famous Sid’s café where so many hilarious scenes were filmed of the hapless trio and where many of their misadventures took place. We were able to enjoy lunch here, where we soaked up some of the tv memorabilia under the watchful eye of Nora Batty. She looked like she was about to chase us out of the café at any minute with her broom! Another treat for the soap...
