Warners Leisure Resort

We were back at the wonderful Warners resort and as the sun was shining we took a a walk around the perfectly kept gardens. We saw
lovely big trees with their leaves already turning brown. Boats were out on the
lake and the ducks and geese were very noisy looking for some treats.
Today we headed to Portsmouth to climb the Spinnaker Tower, the Sail of the Solent. This
170-meter-high observation tower offered spectacular views across the English
Channel. Some of us bravely walked along the glass platform where we could see all
the way down to the pavement. The views were incredible, and we could see all
the way over to the Isle of Wight and we even spotted Hayling Island. Once
we had made it back to the ground we took a stroll along the docks, which is
home to some of the most famous ships. It was fascinating to learn about its
naval history.
It was a unanimous vote to catch
the hovercraft over to the Isle of Wight which was a first-time experience for
all of us. We couldn’t believe that it only takes 10 minutes to get there!
After a quick and calm crossing, we had arrived, and we were ready to explore.
We sat for a while admiring the other hovercraft and boats depart from the
port, there was a real hustle and bustle about the place.

There were so many activities for us to join in with from music quizzes to general knowledge. It was then for a game of music bingo, and it
was obviously Stephen’s lucky day as he shouted out ‘bingo’ at the top of his
voice! He received another prize and couldn’t be happier!
The evening entertainment was something we always looked forward to. Kicking off the evening
was Life and Soul who wowed us with a medley of classic soul sounds along with
some funky upbeat numbers that we sang along to, waving our hands in the air. This
was then followed by The Sailaways who performed some more classic disco tunes.
In true JollyDays style we hit the dance floor and danced away till late into the night.
Our active group headed down to the sports hall and joined in with game of curling. We split into two team and with a steady hand and
our eye on the prize we had to push the curl to the target mat and hope we
landed on the big score points! With all the points added together we had a
winner! Stephen’s team were victorious, and they won a free hot drink for their
super efforts!

The games continued of the pool table and we all tried our hardest to pot the all important black.
