The Mediterranean Cruise Adventure with Darren, Netty & Isobel

 The Mediterranean Cruise Adventure

Look at our home for the week, the magnificent Voyager 2. It was a true site to behold. We put on our glad rags and made our way to dinner in Restaurant 47, a silver service restaurant where we dined on some splendid food.

Buongiorno! This morning we woke in the port of Livorno, Italy. It was a bright and early start to the day as it was our first day trip to explore Florence and Pisa famous for The Leaning Tower of Pisa: A Wonder of Architecture. The tower is one of the most recognizable and beloved structures in the world. This remarkable architectural wonder has captivated the hearts of tourists and historians alike. The tower's characteristic tilt is a result of an unstable foundation. We had a truly wonderful experience getting so close to it. We then went to a vineyard for a lovely lunch and a spot of wine tasting in such a traditional setting. It felt like a real treat.

The girls decided they would like to head to the spa for a spot of pampering. They both decided on having a luxury manicure and felt truly pampered afterwards

The party goers amongst us headed to the late-night disco and showed the other holiday guests our groovy moves.

Hola! Barcelona, a vibrant place steeped in history and breathtaking architecture. After exploring some more we headed to the famous La Rambla, a bustling tree-lined street that runs through the heart of the city. It's a promenade of life, featuring street performers, open-air markets, and a kaleidoscope of cafes and restaurants. A leisurely walk here is the perfect way to soak in the city's lively atmosphere. The street performers made us laugh and some made us jump as we actually thought they were statues.
We all bought lots of souvenirs at the market and found some real bargains.

There were so many incredible shows full of glitz and glamour, and we were wowed by some amazing choreography. Most evening's we we headed to Deck 9 for the Sail Away Party which included lots of dancing, singing and drinking. One night, to our surprise we were treated to a fantastic firework display which lit up the night sky

Bonjour! Today we woke up in France. We got a shuttle boat to Toulon a coastal city which boasts a vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and a rich maritime history. Its history is deeply entwined with its naval heritage which is one of the largest in France. The Old Town is charming and filled with narrow streets, bustling markets, and quaint cafes. We took a land train around the town and took in the wonderful sites before having lunch in a beautiful patisserie in the square where we enjoyed some traditional French fare.

Back in Italy we arrive in La Spezia a hidden gem nestled along the captivating riviera, La Spezia is a picturesque coastal town that often goes unnoticed amidst the more famous neighbouring cities like Cinque Terre and Portofino. However, this beautiful town is the perfect place for travellers seeking a quieter and more authentic Italian experience. Its harbour, surrounded by lush hills and cliffs, provides a serene backdrop. We took a small train ride around the whole town taking in the sheer beauty.

Something we hadn't experienced before was a silent disco. Everyone was given a set of headphones playing different songs. It was such a weird sensation watching others throw some shapes not knowing what song they were dancing to! It was so much fun. It was then our turn to take to the mic and belt out some of our favourite karaoke songs. There was a huge round of applause from the audience, and we equally cheered for them after some great performances.
