Winter sun in Tenerife with Colin, Wendy & Jeanette

Some of our group met up the night before we flew off to Tenerife, having a long journey to the airport. We all met up at Luton Airport and everything went to plan, with our flight leaving pretty much on time, and we had a nice smooth flight to the Canaries, leaving wet and cold England behind!

We hired 2 minibuses in Tenerife to transport the 13 of us to our hotel in Los Cristianos, which was just a 20 minute drive away.  Everyone was happy with the spacious rooms and as we had returned to the same hotel that we had used before, we knew just where to visit and that we only had a short walk to the seafront.

During the week we spent a day driving up into the mountains to see the Island's volcano 'Mount Teide'.  We took a boat trip to see the local pilot whales and dolphins and visited the local Jungle Park.  Every day the temperature hovered near 25 degrees and we all enjoyed walking around in T-Shirts and shorts even though it was almost Christmas!   Somehow we managed to fit in a day relaxing on the beach, several trips to the hotel pool, for gifts and souvenirs, shopping for gifts in the local high street and enjoying a traditional Tapas lunch in Porto Santiago.

Although breakfasts were taken in the hotel, to enable us to experience as much of the local attractions as possible we had lunch & dinner at several different local restaurants.

Two of our favourite places to visit were "Charly's" restaurant, which was very close to the hotel, which had live singing and "Dreamers" bar, which had cabaret, singing and karaoke every evening.  We spent 2 great nights in Dreamers dancing and singing into the late hours.  Our last night was so good we didn't get back to our hotel until gone 1 o'clock in the morning!!   We all had a wonderful time in Tenerife and were all sad that unfortunately the holiday had to come to an end!
