Out & About on The Isle of Wight with Owen, Pat & Mags

It was late afternoon when we arrived on the lovely Isle of Wight and the sun was shining.  We unpacked and then sat outside the chalets with a cup of tea and all got to know each other a little better!   We enjoyed many delicious meals throughout the week - the food was always top notch and there was so much to choose from.
During our week away we watched so much good entertainment!  From a show based on London musicals, a one man band, to a hilarious comedian - we laughed and danced the nights away.
We visited a beautiful Donkey Sanctuary one morning. There were so many donkey's there and we were able to stroke them and watch the staff feed them.  We saw ponies too, which everyone adored.  The same day we took a trip to see the incredible Waltzing Waters - a spectacular water and lights show.  The water moved in time to the music and made wonderful patterns.
On another sunny day we went to see the famous needles!  We got some lovely panoramic shots and some of us went on a chair lift to enjoy the view even more!  We also had some great fun at the fairground - some of us even won and got to take prizes home!  Later that day we went to Godhill village and made our own souvenirs by pouring coloured sand into transparent ornaments! We then watched a man do glass blowing - which was very impressive!
We enjoyed a fab game of bowling at a lovely place right on the sea front - everyone did fantastically well.  We visited the beautiful Shanklin where we saw lots of pretty cottages and some gorgeous gardens.
What a wonderful holiday we had.  On our way home we stopped at a beautiful pub with wild horses roaming around.  We chatted about our holiday and thanked each other for a great week.
