Norfolk Broads and Seaside with Adrian and Jeanette

Image
We all met and had a lovely pub lunch.   The area we were staying in was beautiful and we were all extremely excited as we arrived at our accommodation.   We had a lovely relaxed evening and enjoyed dinner at a local restaurant.   We went sailing on a steering boat and all got to sit at the wheel and have a go at driving it!   The scenery was very picturesque – we saw lots of other boats and lovely houses.   We had a filling lunch and then had a cruise around the broads.   We were lucky enough to see swans, kingfishers, marsh harriers, geese, ducks and other river wildlife!   We went into to the very pretty town of Wroxham and did a spot of shopping!   We took a train ride through the stunning coastal countryside of Norfolk, beginning at Holt and finishing in Sheringham. Ben was very proud of having his photo taken on the Footplate!   We all had ice creams and devoured a fish and chip lunch!   We all wanted to buy souvenirs...

Peak District Walks with Derek & Wendy

We all met at a nice pub for lunch and then continued our journey to our cottage in New Mills, overlooking the beautiful valley. After unpacking, we set off for an evening stroll along the country lane to our local pub, The Fox, for a swift drink and then went to dinner at the Waltzing Weazel, Birch Vale. Back at the cottage we had hot drinks, watched a little TV and had a relaxing evening. The following morning we had breakfast in the conservatory with marvellous views all around and got ready for our first venture of the day. We stayed local and went to the Heritage Centre in New Mills and took in some of the history of the area. From the centre we walked out along the river Goyt and then back via the canal.  Along the way we spotted sheep with their lambs, horses and Lamas. Lunch was taken before driving through the beautiful peaks to start our cross country walk around the Comb area.     There were gorgeous views and we passed cows and more sheep...

Potters with Adrian & Mel

We set off for Potters Leisure Resort feeling extremely excited about our holiday. En route, we stopped for a very filling lunch at a lovely little pub.   Arriving at Potters we were all ready and raring to go! We found our lovely spacious rooms, unpacked, changed into our glad rags for dinner, and went down to The Garden Restaurant. The food was always presented beautifully and was absolutely delicious.   We all loved our very smiley waiter, Paul. We celebrated Charlottes’ 21 st birthday at dinner on the first evening – the kind staff had decorated the table with balloons and party poppers!    We watched the show ‘London’s Calling’ in the Atlas Theatre, which was incredible!   Charlotte even got up on stage and received a birthday medal!   The following day we got up and had a lovely big breakfast and went outside to fly our kite!   It was the most perfect day for it – sunny but very windy!   For some of us it wa...

London Sightseeing & Theatre with Colin & Jeanette

Staying at a hotel near the ExCel exhibition centre, we were in a great location to explore London each day. The beauty of being close to The O2 meant that we had several different types of restaurants to choose from and most importantly lots of delicious deserts to sample. Even though the week was a little chilly, we managed to fit in many of the sights and experiences of London and everyone said that they would love to come again. We were all brave as we boarded the Emirates Air Line, the cable car that took us high above the River Thames, with fantastic views across London. On the other side of the river we explored The O2 (previously the Millennium Dome). We travelled to South Kensington where we spent the day looking around both the Natural History and the Victoria & Albert Museums. Although the Dinosaur section in the Natural History Museum was probably everyone’s favourite exhibition there were plenty of other attractions that we were able to take in during the day. We w...
