Norfolk Broads with Colin, Pat & Mags

Image
Our week on the Norfolk Broads started in the customary way of all meeting up and having lunch at a country pub, all getting to know each other. The accommodation that we use on the Broads is so convenient for the many activities that we get involved in during the week and we only have to walk to the dock at the bottom of the garden to get access to many different boats that we use. We are helped during the week by the qualified instructors based at our accommodation and this week was no different to any other. Even though we had to account for a pretty bad weather forecast, we were able to get out cruising, rowing and sailing on several occasions, all without getting wet !!! During the week we ate out at a number of different country pubs, both in the evenings and for lunch when we stopped during our day long cruise. The weather didn't stop us having a BBQ either which everyone enjoyed. We also kept busy having a day trip out on the Steam train from Holt to Sherringham, a...

Center Parcs with Derek & Wendy

No matter what the weather, Center Parcs is a great place to enjoy everything that is on offer! Fortunately we missed getting too wet and had a great time utilising the fantastic facilities. We dodged the odd shower and the occasional heavy downfall to have a fun packed time. Our accommodation was its usual high standard and we enjoyed some down time resting in comfort when required. From our bungalows we could see and feed the animals that consisted of ducks, squirrels, rabbits and deer!! Our first evening we celebrated Nazim’s birthday, dining at Cafe Rouge, where she opened presents and had “happy birthday” sung by the whole of the restaurant! Days started with a wakeup call with a nice cuppa, followed with a hearty breakfast. This set us up for a day full of activities. These included swimming, badminton, table tennis, ten-pin bowling, pool, tennis, bicycle riding, short green bowls, crazy golf and taking a pedalo on the lake. We had our meals in three different restauran...

EuroDisney with Derek & Jen

Our journey ended at our very nice hotel just outside of the Disney Park. We found a great restaurant not far away and enjoyed a relaxed evening ahead of our first day in the park! After a good breakfast, we set off for the Disney Studio Park as the weather was set for showers throughout our day. We managed a quick photo shoot with Minnie Mouse before heading for Moteurs...Action! Stunt Show Spectacular. That was brilliant!! After lunch we saw both the CineMagique and Animagique shows. Later in the day we watched the Disney Parade. As the weather was still a little wet, we went back to our hotel and had a swim before heading off to dinner at Val de Europe. Day two was to the Disneyland Park. Luckily the weather improved for the day and we really enjoyed many of the rides. We managed to get several autographs from the characters as well as seeing the grand Disney Parade in the evening. It was going to be a late night, as not only did we dine at “Planet Hollywood”, but it was late nig...
