Butlins, Fun & Dancing (Skegness) with Leo & Candy

 Butlins, Fun & Dancing

Every holiday is a memorable holiday especially when we get to meet the real Billy Bear and the friendly Redcoats.

They are always so happy to come and chat to us and they certainly love dancing as much as we do!

One morning we headed to Natureland Seal Sanctuary. It is known worldwide for rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned and injured seal pups along the Lincolnshire coast. We were able to see every step in their rehabilitation process and hear about the rescue work. Luckily for us we managed to see the seal pups being fed in the rearing pool!

We explored the tropical butterfly exhibit was a firm favourite, along with the penguins, meerkats and alpacas which we were able to gets hands on and feed too.

We hit the bowling alley for a few friendly but competitive games. With some high scores and lucky strikes, it was almost too close to call the winner. Well done everyone for being great sports.

Lincolnshire Wildlife Park made for a brilliant day out. It is renowned for accommodating the largest collection of Bengal Tigers! They have 8 handsome cats and we saw 4 of them basking in the sunlight. It was an astounding sight and such a marvellous space for them to roam. We even managed to get a glimpse of the White Lion who looked very elegant for such a big animal.

It was parrot paradise as we marvelled at all of the colourful species of the bird world who entertained us for ages! We entered the bird enclosure and tempted the parrots with some tasty treats, which they couldn’t resist. It was an amazing experience as they flew towards us and perched on our arms and heads (!) happy with their rewards.

Back at Butlins we enjoyed all the fun of the fair! We had eyed up the rides we wanted to go on and the daredevils amongst us were soon shrieking in delight as the twister threw us around in every direction possible at high speed.

We also tried our luck on 'Hook a Duck" and the arcade machines winning lots of fantastic prizes.

The evening entertainment doesn't get much better than this! As the lights dimmed, the music started to play and we were soon on the dance floor, shaking our hips to the Latin music. The dancers were incredible, and the outfits certainly dazzled us.
We were also blown away by a tribute to the famous pop band ABBA and the rock queen herself Cher. ‘Turn Back Time’ did not disappoint, and we didn’t sit still throughout the whole performance.

A trip to the beach was a must and feeling brave, some of us dipped our feet in the sea and we all had great fun making sea angels in the sand.

A trip to the beach wouldn't be complete without a tasty ice cream treat!
