Wales in Summertime with Derek & Mags

Our exciting and scenic journey ended at our beautiful accommodation in rural Wales.
We settled in right away and were itching to get out an explore our delightful surroundings!

Each day started with a delicious home cooked breakfast, leaving us ready and raring for our adventures.  We visited the astoundingly beautiful Kidwelly Castle where we sat outside and watched a very funny puppet show, acting out the rise and fall of Welsh Kings and Princesses!

We explored the coast at Burry Port where we saw an amazing lighthouse and long glorious stretches of beach. We devoured the best traditional fish and chips around!

We stepped back in time on the magnificent Gwili Steam Railway.  They had a fabulous museum where we went into the signal box!  We even lunched in a beautiful converted railway carriage.

Our trip to Dinefwr Park was loved by all. We saw white cattle in the lush fields and headed up to our second breath taking castle.  We walked all around the old castle walls and soaked up the history.

We had a wonderful day at the National Botanic Gardens where we took in the vibrant colours and stunning views across the lakes.  We walked through the largest single span greenhouse in Europe!

Everyone loved the visit to St David's, the smallest city in the UK.  We went into the exquisite cathedral and were impressed by it's sheer size.  We stopped off at Pendine Sands to the Museum of Speed. We watched a fascinating video of bygone days and saw the car named BABS that held the land speed record at that time!

The pretty coastal village of Solva captured our hearts as we walked along the inlet and looked at the bobbing boats in the harbour.  We saw quaint cottages and had a game of boules on the soft sand.
We had a wonderful holiday thoroughly loved by everyone!
