Peak District Walks with Phil & Wendy

How excited we all were as we set off for the beautiful Peak District!  When we arrived we settled into our stunning Darwin Forest Lodges, unpacked our things and headed out to our local pub where we chatted to the friendly locals and found out about the best local walks!  What a way to start off our holiday!

During our week away we saw and did some wonderful things.  After each hearty home cooked breakfast, we set off for our days adventure.  We did some great walking amongst some beautiful countryside.  We visited Stanton Moor, Tissington Village, Matlock and the lovely Ilam country park - what a beauty spot!  We took a special walk around Thorpe Cloud (an isolated limestone mound lying between the villages of Thorpe and Ilam at the Southern end of Dovedale.)

We enjoyed a day at Tramway village, seeing the museum, exhibition hall, working viewing gallery, the tram depot and George Stephenson Discovery & Learning Centre!  What a fantastic day out.  We even went to Chatsworth House and had a walk around the idyllic gardens.  We had such a brilliant week away and everybody said how much they would love to come back again!
