Spanish Costas with Derek & Jen

With the weather turning chillier in England it was great to jet off to sunny Spain for 8 days of glorious weather. Staying at a 4* hotel we enjoyed great entertainment each evening, put on by the very enthusiastic staff.

From our hotel we could walk along the prom (via many shops) towards the marina at the far end of the beach. We took well earned rests most days lounging by the hotel pool, soaking up the rays. We were kept entertained playing pool, table tennis and table football during the day and dancing each evening.

One day we caught a catamaran to Cambrils. It was a splendid return cruise allowing us more time to relax and take in the coastal scenery. We strolled through the streets and window shopped, had lunch and had the obligatory ice cream. The catamaran trip was so enjoyable we came back later in the week to take the trip again!

Another day we caught the land-train at the prom and had an hour’s ride around the local area, which was good fun. We also headed to the beach to soak up some sun, swim and splash around in the warm sea. We went out after dinner and went to an Irish bar where we listened to a live group. It was very musical and funny.

In an evening after dinner we went to another local bar where we played bongo and both Gemma and Terry got to the mike for some karaoke!

On our last full day we took a bus ride to La Pineda and had a nice lunch before moving to the beach for more swimming and lazing on sun beds. In the evening we had live music and this time the cabaret was Spanish dancing. It was a really good show. Naturally we did our own Spanish dancing!
