Cyprus Sun with Derek, Wendy & Adrian

As we jetted off to our exotic location of Cyprus, the excitement was fizzing in the air!  Our holiday was absolutely fantastic and the warm sun made us feel bright and happy.  Throughout our stay, we had some lovely relaxing time on the stunning beach which was right next to our hotel.  We swam in the pool and in the crystal clear sea and strolled along the delightful promenade, sampling the local ice cream- it was delicious! 

 

 

 

We visited Ayia Napa and strolled around it's beautiful harbour with it's colourful fishing boats.  We looked around a beautifully painted chapel and walked through the gardens with its Easter decorations.  On another morning we headed to our nearby port where we boarded a boat for a full days cruise along the coast.  We sailed to Cape Greko and stopped for a swim in the incredibly clear water.  We enjoyed a BBQ lunch on board and then sailed back along the coast to the border town of Famagusta.  It really was beautiful and everyone loved taking in the scenery.

 

 

 

On another bright morning we drove up into the stunning Trodos mountains.  In the wine growing area we stopped off in Lania and had lunch in a pretty café set amongst walnut and citrus trees.  It was amazing to explore the ancient village with it's huge old wine press and brightly painted church.  We looked at some local art in a gallery and even picked oranges off the trees! 

 

 

We went to St Elias and Konnos where we enjoyed lunch overlooking the bay.  We sampled some fantastic local cuisine throughout our holiday, from traditional Cypriot Meze to beautifully fresh fish!  In the lovely balmy evenings we watched some fantastic entertainment and some of us even did some karaoke! As always there was plenty of dancing and lots of laughing.  Our holiday was thoroughly loved by everyone.
